So it happens Alaskans voted both for Trump and Murkowski. Then they voted out the only guy
that voted for full PFD. Since votes these days are calculated by RCV Computer Overlord I have
called in for an interview to see if this adds up (pun intended).
Interviewer: Morning. I gather you relatively new to town?
RCV CO: Yes, most states just don’t like me and in some I’m banned. And it sure takes lot of money
to get me installed.
Interviewer: Isn’t that interesting that so many people got hurt by Judge Zeman ruling over
homeschooling yet he was retained in this last election?
RCV CO: Indeed, but this was most secure election ever, especially come nighttime.
(Interviewer laughed)
(RCV CO laughed)
Interviewer: Understand, no problem we can just elect better judges then.
RCV CO: Well no, judges in Alaska are appointed by Governor.
Interviewer: OK, we can make Governor appoint better judges.
RCV CO: Actually, Governor only gets to pick out of nominations coming out of Judicial Council.
Interviewer: What’s that?
RCV CO: That’s three non lawyers and four lawyers voting who to nominate.
Interviewer: That isn’t much of fair vote between 3 and 4.
RCV CO: Well congratulations, looks like YOU can add things up.
Interviewer: So Governor gets to freely decide which one of all leftist nominations he likes the best?
RCV CO: I like how you figured out there are no rightist nominations.
Interviewer: But Governor can still issue executive orders to fix few things, right?
RCV CO: Right, and those are valid unless random party sues our elected governor for it, then it
would be up to unelected judge to tell governor what he can or cannot do.
Interviewer: But we can have judges investigated by some independent entity. Don’t we have one?
RCV CO: Yes we do, Alaska Commission on Judicial Conduct with Marla N. Greenstein.
Interviewer: Oh good, independent third party then.
RCV CO: Actually she is a lawyer.
Interviewer: Is she a good lawyer or bad lawyer?
RCV CO: Yes.
Interviewer: I see, perfect answer to that question. We the people shall then impeach judge we don’t like.
RCV CO: Actually … no, the People can only decide who to retain or not about every so many years, it
varies.
Interviewer: OK, who wrote all this?
RCV CO: The lawyers who wrote Alaska Constitution back in the days.
Interviewer: But this would mean only lawyers get to decide who is going to be judge and not the
people or the governor or legislature?
RCV CO: Yes, they thought that to be the best them having the best understanding of common sense.
Interviewer: Aren’t lawyers the very same people who believe one hour of theirs work is worth my
week salary?
RCV CO: You shouldn’t question common sense of very well paid professionals.
Interviewer: Is there anyone at all who can check on runaway judiciary?
RCV CO: Yes, Grand Juries that outrank everyone else in the state and cannot be suspended once
seated. However some judges think Grand Jury can be suspended if judge doesn’t like their findings.
You can of course sue them in court to find out if they will find themselves guilty.
Interviewer: Is sarcasm built into you system?
RCV CO: No.
RCV CO: Yes.
Interviewer: I think we cooked, what say you?
RCV CO: Are you trying to get me unplugged?
TAKE some time to learn about how grand jury reports should be. They facilitate ethical conduct within a system that has long been viewed as ripe for potential corruption. Today we have one judicial investigator who has been in her position of authority for 36 years. One should question how the unbiased office is maintained without appropriate rotation of power.
